Professional Year Programs
Acacia Education has partnered with Professional Pathways Australia to offer international students and recent graduates two DIAC approved
Professional Year programs: the ACS Professional Year program and Skilled Migration Internship Program - Accounting (SMIPA).
The Professional Year programs aim to provide a quality workplace related experience through relevant practical training, and provide a
bridge from university into permanent employment in Australia.
In partnership with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and CPA Australia,
NIA and ICAA, these programs have been principally designed for international graduates. Skills learned will enhance employment opportunities
and provide recognised points for Australian permanent residency applications.
The programs are 12-months in duration, covering a minimum of 44 weeks which includes a 12-week internship within a host company.
Participants will experience practical hands-on learning with an emphasis on workplace preparation - culture, workplace ethics and
expectations.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must:
- Hold a 485 Temporary Resident visa for Skilled Migration or have applied for the 485 visa
- Completed a Higher Education program in Australia in a course that provides two years credit points over a minimum of 18 months. The
qualification must match the Professional Year course they are applying for
- Have a minimum IELTS test score of 6.0 on each band
- Have a skills assessment letter from the IT or Accounting professional bodies
