General Skilled Migration Update 8 February 2010

On 8 February 2010, the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans, announced the following changes to the General Skilled Migration (GSM) program:
New priority processing arrangements have been set effective 8 February 2010:
GSM applications lodged before 1 September 2007, and not finalised will no longer be processed. Those affected applicants
will be given a refund of their visa application fee
The Migration Occupation in Demand List (MODL) revoked on 8 February 2010
A new Skilled Occupation List will replace the MODL and the Critical Skills List (CSL). The new list becomes available in md 2010.
The GSM Point Test Review will be undertaken in the first half of 2010
