Victoria suspends processing of nominations for trade occupations for 886 applicants
By Mark Webster 11/3/2009
The Victorian Government announced on 28 February that they would suspend processing of nomination applications from international students in trade occupations.
This action has been taken in response to an investigation undertaken by DIAC into certain organisations in relation to work references and education certificates which have been issued.
As a result, students applying for skilled sponsored subclass 886 visas are no longer able to obtain a state nomination from Victoria.
Victoria has introduced significant changes to their requirements for state nomination - in particular, only a few occupations are available for nomination of 886 applicants. For further information, please refer to the Victorian Skilled Sponsored Occupations List
