May 2019 SkillSelect UpdateThe 2018/2019 financial year is likely to end on a whimper rather than a bang, following the release of the May SkillSelect invitation round results. Again, only a tiny 100 subclass 189 visa invitations were sent, along with the now expected maximum of 10 Subclass 489 family sponsored invitations. The pro-rata occupations are now sitting at 71% of their quota ceiling, so either the program will not fill or we will have a big month in June. We expect the former - but are hoping for the latter.
Point scores for non-pro rata occupations has stayed the same:The points score for non-pro rata 189 has remained at 80 points, with just over a month's waiting time.
Points score for the 489 Family Sponsored visa has increased:Applicants now require a point score of 85, but will only wait one month for an invitation.
Pro-rata occupations:Pro-rata occupations are classified as those for which there is more demand for places than there are places available. These occupations usually have a point score higher than the non-pro rata occupations. 9 May 2019 Invitation Rounds scores for pro-rata occupations are:
